When does food become food?
Entomophagy-the practice of eating insects is a new concept to the Western world that opens up these days. As part of the solution to the Food-Security, insects are a very sustainable source of protein, but in Western society, there is still reluctance. The project examines design as an opportunity to bridge gaps between a well-established cultural perception and innovative response, between the urban-western space and nature, and between humans and the natural food they grow at home. The farm is a natural ecosystem that integrates into the architectural space of the house and creates an interaction between the crickets and the grower. The product calls us to criticize the conduct of the food industry and also to adopt a sustainable lifestyle by creating an energetic circle of food consumption at home. The farm provides a cutting-edge solution to contemporary Western culture discourse and presents innovative ways of thinking about food and consuming culture.
